Vesak is a fictional Buddhifuturist film inspired by factual Buddhism festivals, it touches upon Animism, Nature and Quantified spirituality.
The film leverages the power of real-time game engine to orchestrate a sequence of narrative, sound, and mythical symbols to depict a world that shifts between fiction and reality in Techno-Chan aesthetic.
The monk is on a quest to curate an immersive festival that loosely based on tales of sutras. Traditional fish-releasing becomes symbiotic with groups of drones, or better yet, the divine-blessing of consecration juxtaposes the desire of the esoteric quantum machine.
The film confronts the stereotypical and flattened narrative of Buddhism philosophy, and criticizes Kitsch Asian aesthetics. Through the camera lens, the film captures moments of blending culture, language and music that reflects the plasticity of Buddhism philosophy
